Re: Anyone read this? Interesting about forgings........
another response by Ari I found from reading elsewhere.......Ill wait on him to chime in here, I have done business with Ari and never had a single problem and nothing but great communication from him and service, on the other hand I have never heard anything but positive stuff about Chris at Tourspec, but I am not paying 75 dollars shipping from Japan on an item when Chris lives in the US from what I am told, plus I am not interested in ANY JDM products except for the cool TaylorMade Japan releases sometimes.......
"Everything posted on that blog is 100% false. We used to work with Chris from tourspec (who wrote that piece) but we stopped when he told me over and over again that he only cared about how much money he was making from a certain product. He kept trying to get me to give him better wholesale prices than I was giving everyone else because he said if he was making more money on our product that he "could" promote us more. He will say anything that he needs to say that will help him sell the products that he is selling no matter the truth and has told me that specifically more than once. After finding out what he was all about we left his forum.
I have fowarded this to our lawyer as well as Bill Holowaty at Miura Golf who has sent it to his lawyer. Chris will be hearing from both of us.
We pay extra for our forgings that are made from 1018 carbon steel compared to what we would pay for 1025 or something harder. We even have higher minimums because of it. We use 1018 carbon steel because in our testing most players preferred the feel of it compared to the other metals that we tested. This specifically has helped us land Tour players Ryan Moore and Cristie Kerr who both cite feel as the main reason they play our clubs. I have been to the foundry in Japan many times and watched the whole process. The only Scratch clubs that are made in China are our 8620 wedges which are cast from 8620 "carbon" steel.
* I just read through his whole blog #1 and #2. What he is saying is simply absurd! Miura does not forge their clubs? I know many people who have seen this in process in person. We dont use 1018 carbon steel? Every forged club we have ever produced has been made of 1018 carbon steel. He even claims that Mr. Ishihara, our contact at our grinding house is dead! Someone should really tell him that as I saw him only a couple months ago and received an email from him just yesterday! Amazing....."

Interesting read and seems a far bit far-fetched. I actually spoke to someone credible tonight that seemed to think these accusations against Scratch are totally far fetched. They actually have forgings made from the same factory. I'll elaborate a little more after I get my names right.

Definetely interesting, I'll say this, the author of that write doesn't sound bitter about any breakup to me and the story doesn't sound far fetched in the least. I can't wait to hear the results of the metal tests being conducted in Phoenix.

I read on another site--Ari actually showed the order form from where they get there steel and its 1018. Also debunked all other stuff, story over.
